Approximately 10% to 15% of the population globally experiences swallowing disorders. Individuals affected by these conditions not only lose the sensory enjoyment associated with food—such as taste, smell, and texture—but also confront several challenges, including diminished mood and heightened psychological stress. In response to this significant issue, Taste Reverie offers an innovative dining experience utilizing cutting-edge virtual reality and multi-sensory technology.
Taste Reverie transcends the limitations of traditional treatments by integrating multi-sensory devices, including odour generators, VR glasses, and haptic gloves. This approach facilitates the creation of a multi-dimensional immersive dining environment, enabling users to simultaneously perceive the aroma, texture, and visual aspects of food while engaging with the technology. As a result, individuals experience the joy of eating while alleviating psychological stress.
To accommodate the diverse needs of patients, Taste Reverie employs a modular design, allowing users to select from various devices based on their requirements, whether in a rehabilitation centre or the comfort of their own homes. Furthermore, the product's design considers patients' physical and psychological needs, incorporating ergonomic principles. The headgear is meticulously crafted to conform to the contours of the head, minimizing discomfort during use. Additionally, the nasal fixator is constructed from flexible materials and features a magnetic adjustment mechanism to ensure stability and comfort during wear.
