Pioneering East Rift Valley Granary Festivities

The “Pioneering East Rift Valley Granary Festivities” is a long-term rural innovation initiative that reimagines the countryside through the lens of art, land, and community. Since 2019, it has invited artists from Taiwan and around the world to create large-scale, site-specific installations throughout the East Rift Valley in eastern Taiwan.
By systematically integrating local industries and offering landscape tours, creative workshops, and themed travel experiences, the program has successfully increased both the frequency and duration of tourist visits.
As of 2024, the project has attracted over 7.18 million visits, generating approximately NT$2.7 billion (≈ USD 87 million) in regional economic impact through rural tourism and cultural consumption.
This initiative redefines the possibilities of rural aesthetics and place-based marketing, establishing a cultural brand where art, land, and local communities converge. It has gradually cultivated a distinctive and internationally recognizable identity for Taiwan’s East Rift Valley.
